The summer sun is still here and there is plenty of Texas heat to go around. While some are taking advantage of this time to begin our natural weight loss program or you are just taking the vacation you deserve, there is a lot to look forward to this summer. However, this makes it more important than ever that you are able to stay hydrated this summer.
1. Always Have A Drink Handy!
Whether you are just headed to the office or are going to enjoy a relaxing day on the beach, you should make sure to plan ahead with a few drinks. The best drink to bring along of course is water, but ice tea, smoothies, fruit infused water, and vegetable juice are all wonderful choices as well.
2. Take Extra Care With Alcohol!
While you do need to be careful with your alcohol consumption normally, you need to take extra care during the hot summer months. This is because as you are losing water through sweat which can intensifies the effects of alcohol.
3. Listen To Your Body!
Do you feel light headed? Overheated? Developing a headache? These could be warning signs of dehydration or even heat stroke. Whatever you do, do not ignore these symptoms once they arise. First, try to lie in the shade and drink some water, if symptoms persist, you may want to see a medical professional just to be safe.
4. Drink Before And After Exercise!
If you are planning to exercise for some natural weight loss, make sure to drink water before and after you do so. In fact, you should take a sip of water every 10 to 20 minutes that you exercise in order to replenish what you are losing through sweat. Also, if you are exercising in the summer, try to keep your routine somewhere between 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. or 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. to avoid the hottest parts of the day.
5. Wear Breathable Clothes!
Excessive sweating can cause you to lose water far too quickly. So make sure to wear lightweight and breathable clothing in order to help you stay cool and hydrated. Light colors and materials like cotton or synthetic fibers, are highly recommended.
